Ionis Pharmaceuticals Seeks Trial Participants for DM1 Treatment

Ionis Pharmaceuticals is seeking trial participants to help evaluate an experimental DM1 drug, IONIS-DMPKRx, that may help modify the disease rather than just treat the symptoms.

Doctors are currently conducting this clinical trial for people who have been diagnosed with DM1. In this trial they are evaluating the safety and tolerability of the experimental drug, Ionis-DMPKRx, which is administered over a few weeks.

To pre-qualify for this clinical trial, you must:

  • Be 20 to 55 years of age
  • Be diagnosed with DM1
  • Have developed the symptoms of DM1 after the age of 12

All trial-related visits, tests, and drugs will be provided at no cost. In addition, reimbursement for study-related travel may be provided. Read the Ionis Pharmaceuticals trial flyer.

To reach Ionis Pharmaceuticals directly, email: patients@ionisph.com, or call 1-800-679-4747. Learn more about research studies and trials.

[Update: Results from the Phase I/II Trial study were announced on January 5, 2017: Ionis Pharmaceuticals Reports DMPKRx Phase 1/2 Trial Results. Ionis Pharmaceuticals and Biogen also released a letter to the DM community in January 2017.]
