Highlights of the Professionals Track at the 2016 MDF Annual Conference include:
MDF will hold a grant writing training session on Saturday, September 17, from 11:00 - 11:50 AM. The session will provide insights into how the NIH works and advice on how to compete for funding. The session is designed for MDF fellows, but is open to graduate students, fellows and junior faculty wishing to learn about negotiating the NIH grant system.
The poster session is new to the MDF Conference in 2016. Twenty posters will be on display along with their presenters on Friday, September 16, 10:00 - 11:20 AM. The posters will also be available and manned by the presenters, for the community attendees, on Saturday, September 17, from 1:00 - 1:50 PM.
Drug Development Roundtable (DDR):
The DDR brings together researchers from academia and biotechnology/pharmaceutical firms to discuss critical issues in advancing the drug development pipeline for DM. The DDR will be held on Thursday, September 15, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM.
Myotonic Dystrophy Clinical Research Network (DMCRN):
The DMCRN is a 7-site network, funded by the NIH, pharma and patient advocacy organizations (including MDF), that is designed to advance clinical research and clinical research infrastructure in DM. DMCRN members will discuss current activities as well as plans for the next phase efforts on Friday, September 16, from 1:00-5:00 PM.
