A Cross-Country Mission Fueled by Love<\/h2>\n

This year, a cross-country journey is capturing hearts and uniting motorcycle enthusiasts, rare disease advocates, and families impacted by\u00a0myotonic dystrophy (DM)<\/strong>. Patrick „Pat“ Cornell aka\u00a0„Vroom Old Man“<\/a>\u2014a 60-year-old Navy veteran, 9\/11 first responder, and retired firefighter\u2014rides\u00a0125,000+ miles in 125+ days<\/strong>\u00a0to raise awareness and\u00a0funds for DM<\/a>, a little-known but devastating genetic disorder that affects more than 150,000 Americans.<\/p>\n

Pat isn\u2019t chasing a record for himself. He\u2019s riding for Janice\u2014his wife of over 7 years\u2014and the Mantz family, who have battled myotonic dystrophy for generations. \u201cIt\u2019s affected our sisters, cousins, and nieces, grandparents, aunts, and uncles,\u201d Janice says. \u201cBut Pat refuses to let the disease define our family\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their mission is personal. Their message is universal.<\/p>\n
