2026 Research Fellowship – $55k \/ $105k<\/a><\/h3>\n

MDF\u2019s flagship\u00a0two-year fellowship<\/strong>\u00a0(Doctoral: $55,000\u00a0<\/strong>|\u00a0Post-doctoral: $105,000<\/strong>) for pre- and post-doctoral researchers conducting innovative studies on: DM pathogenesis and progression, clinical management, and therapeutic and diagnostic development.\u00a0<\/em>Doctoral and postdoctoral scholars, apply now to advance research in myotonic dystrophy! >>><\/a><\/p>\n

This\u00a0two-year award provides $190,000<\/strong>\u00a0to advance the understanding and treatment of DM. Young Investigators are encouraged to apply and contribute to the advancement of myotonic dystrophy research, joining a program committed to fostering the next generation of DM experts!<\/em><\/p>\n

New in 2026, the\u00a0Early Career Scholars<\/strong>\u00a0program will feature two distinct tracks:<\/p>\n

  1. The Basic \/ Translational Science Track<\/strong>\u00a0focuses on advancing\u00a0molecular biology and basic science research<\/strong>\u00a0in DM, aiming to uncover the fundamental mechanisms of the disease, such as the genetic and cellular processes underlying its onset and progression.   2.     Small Grants Program – $2.5 \/ $5k<\/a><\/h3>\n

    We’re thrilled to announce this ongoing initiative offering funding for\u00a0publishing DM-related research in open-access journals<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0travel for presenting at scientific conferences<\/strong>, fostering collaboration, and propelling advancements in DM understanding and treatment. Funding is capped at $5,000 for open-access fees \/ $2,500 for conference travel.\u00a0Apply now to increase access to DM research! >>><\/a><\/p>\n

    MDF Small Grants applications are accepted on a rolling basis, subject to fund availability.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Coming Soon!<\/em>\u00a0Fall 2025 Pilot Grants Program – $50k<\/h3>\n

    This exciting\u00a0one-year grant<\/strong>\u00a0provides\u00a0$50,000 in support<\/strong>\u00a0for DM researchers to explore innovative ideas and conduct preliminary investigations. This funding can help gather essential data and generate preliminary findings to lay the foundation for larger-scale research projects.<\/p>\n
