He earned an MSc in Bioinformatics at the University of Glasgow with <a href=\"https:\/\/myotonic.org\/team\/darren-monckton-phd\/\">Dr. Monckton<\/a>, where he developed the Repeat Genotyping Tool (RGT), and completed a PhD at the Center for Genomic Regulation focused on inferring natural selection in the human lineage.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ali is now a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Kelleher\u2019s group, contributing to msprime and tskit. With strong skills in computational genetics and population-level inference, he aims to apply data-driven approaches to advance myotonic dystrophy research.
