Myotonic Dystrophy Financial Resources

When a family or individual is faced with a progressive condition such as DM1 or DM2 they are often presented with additional financial expenses as well as loss of a steady income. This page attempts to provide U.S.-based families with financial resources that are available on a federal/national level, and state-specific level. The types of resources included are financial, autism-related, caregivers/respite, employment, exercise and outdoors, housing, healthcare and medication, scholarships and education, transportation and equipment, and more. Not every state-specific list will include all categories, and the resources available will vary from state-to-state.

These lists are by no means complete; we invite you to share with us any resources you’ve identified in the form below. This is an on-going project. We will continue to add more state-specific resources when we have compiled them. Please submit any resources that you find, whether or not the state is listed below. We also welcome international resources that may serve our population.

Please be advised that each organization has its own eligibility and application requirements. None of these organizations are affiliated with MDF. We hope you will share your experiences with us – let us know if you are successful in finding a good resource to help your family or if you encounter a problem with any of the resources we have listed.
