Sam's Squad's mission is simple - to raise funds for research focused on finding a cure for myotonic dystrophy, a form of muscular dystrophy affecting Sam Florence and thousands of others.

A running team that uses the Metro PCS Dallas Marathon as a springing board for fundraising for myotonic dystrophy, Sam's Squad participates in the marathon, half-marathon, and relay race.

The 2013 race was ultimately cancelled due to inclement weather, but that didn't stop Sam's super heroes! As of December 20, they had raised over $30,000, earning a matching gift of $25,000, and donations are still coming in!
