We are ready to kick off our 2nd support group meeting the first Sunday of October! The support group facilitators, John and Susan Cooley, have 2 sons with DM1 and have taken a keen interest in educating their family on DM1 and helping others learn more about DM1, medical and therapeutic assistance and great networking opportunities with other DM1 patients and their families. Light snacks and drinks will be served, parking is available in front of the building.

Meeting Topic: Open discussion. Rather than scheduling a speaker, we are going to leave for introductions and structured sharing and discussion. Susan and I attended the 2019 Annual Myotonic Conference in Philadelphia last week and met with other local support group leaders. Many said they switch between speakers and no speakers and often the attendees like the open sharing/discussion meetings.

Please come join us for our second meeting. We are looking forward to meeting you, sharing our story, hearing yours and developing a long-lasting support group. Note, we want people from all over the region to attend. Come one, come all! Please RSVP so that we have an idea on how many attending and how many snacks to bring.
