The Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation is pleased to welcome Genevieve Wiegleb as our new Communications Associate!
MDF is delighted to introduce the newest addition to our team, Genevieve Wiegleb, who has joined us as our Communication Associate. With her diverse background and passion for healthcare and community outreach, Genevieve is poised to take MDF to new heights as we work toward our mission of community, care, and a cure.
Genevieve brings with her a bachelor's degree in public health, with a minor in outdoor leadership. Her academic pursuits have equipped her with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the intricate landscape of public health. It is this background that has paved the way for a career defined by her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
Genevieve has a strong professional background which began with her work in team-building programs and then at a pediatric clinic. This fostered her passion for being part of transformative experiences and strengthened her resolve to contribute to better access to care. What set Genevieve on her current path was her time working in communities affected by sarcoidosis, where she engaged in patient outreach programs and worked closely with community members and volunteers. This combination of experiences ignited her passion for raising awareness and communicating vital health-related information to empower individuals facing chronic illness and rare disease.
Genevieve was drawn to MDF’s community-first values; its reputation for actively seeking and responding to community input resonated deeply with her. She has a deep appreciation for MDF's commitment to valuing employees, supporting community momentum, and ensuring sustainability for everyone involved.
In her new role, Genevieve is enthusiastic about several projects she is spearheading. Right now, she is focused on updating website content and establishing a more consistent social media presence for MDF. Her efforts will increase awareness about MDF’s resources and further our reach in the DM community.
When she's not working diligently to enhance MDF’s communications, Genevieve enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, and climbing. We are thrilled to welcome Genevieve to the MDF team and are eager to witness the positive impact she will undoubtedly make in her role as our Communications Associate. Please help us give Genevieve a warm welcome!
