MDF invites you to save the date for the 2027 MDF International Conference, taking place April 28-May 2, 2027, at the Hyatt Regency Seattle in Seattle, Washington.
We look forward to bringing the DM community together for connection, learning, and support as we work toward treatments and a cure for myotonic dystrophy.
Registration
Registration will open on International DM Awareness Day: September 15, 2026.

Conference Venue
The DM community deserves a conference experience that is accessible, comfortable, and easy to navigate. After significant research, community feedback, and in-person site visits, MDF is excited to host the 2027 International Conference at the Hyatt Regency Seattle.
Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, the Hyatt Regency Seattle offers convenient access to dining, public transportation, waterfront views, museums, markets, and family-friendly activities.
Based on community feedback, MDF prioritized a venue that would help make the conference more accessible, comfortable, and welcoming for the DM community. The conference hotel features:
- Multiple accessible room options for attendees with a range of mobility, comfort, and care needs.
- Convenient access to conference spaces from guest room floors through the hotel’s elevator banks.
- Family restrooms on each conference meeting floor.
- More rooms than ever before, allowing for expanded research sessions, quiet spaces, and alternative programming.
2027 Conference Program
Back by popular demand, our 2027 program will feature a Wellness Room, Movement Moments, Fireside Chats, Workshops, Networking Buddies, and Friday night entertainment.
What are Networking Buddies?
This program pairs DM professionals with people living with DM and their caregivers to help build meaningful connections between the lived experience of DM and the work of DM professionals.

Financial Assistance
MDF is pleased to offer financial assistance to community members who may need help with conference-related costs. Applicants may request support for conference registration, hotel accommodations, travel expenses, or a combination of these options based on individual need.
Applications for financial assistance will open on September 15, 2026. Assistance will be reviewed based on need and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as funding allows.
Priority for travel and hotel support will be given to individuals and families who have never attended an MDF International Conference or have not previously received an International Conference scholarship. Requests to cover registration costs will be considered for all community members seeking assistance, regardless of prior attendance or scholarship history.
