Meet one of our 2026 Fellows, Amy Mascorro, BSc! Amy Mascorro’s research focuses on repeat expansion disorders, including myotonic dystrophy.
She is a PhD student training in nucleic acid tool development at SUNY Albany under Drs. Jia Sheng and Andy Berglund. In Dr. Berglund’s Lab, she also developed an r(CAG)exp-expressing cell line for small-molecule screening and therapeutic characterization.
She aims to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship and faculty career to advance RNA/DNA-based therapeutics and mentor the next generation of scientists.
