Kyle Dunson is a Support Group Facilitator for the JOA Caregivers Group. He is a resident of Central California and a co-parent/caregiver of one child (now an adult) and the spouse/caregiver of the child’s mom (also his wife) who both have myotonic dystrophy. Kyle holds several degrees ranging from a Bachelor’s in legal Studies to a Masters in Social Work from John F. Kennedy University and Arizona State, respectively. Kyle is currently an LCSW for the VA, working with veterans overcoming homelessness. In his role as a social worker-and, as a caregiver and an advocate for his family, Kyle has become proficient at navigating the resources (healthcare, and insurance systems) that those living with health concerns face and he is passionate about offering those at risk the empowerment tools to more effectively meet their needs. Kyle is grateful now to bring this passion-and empowerment to all those in the DM community as well.
